Tainted Male Enhancement Supplements
The FDA has issued a warning regarding Happy Passengers, an
herbal male enhancement pill. According to the FDA, Happy Passengers – which is
available online and at many natural food stores – contains sildenafil, the
active ingredient found in Viagra®. Sildenafil is known to interact with
nitrates in prescription medications and can lower blood pressure to dangerous
levels.
Happy Passengers and many other herbal alternatives to
Viagra are marketed as being safe for men with high blood pressure and heart
disease. However, when these formulas are themselves enhanced with sildenafil,
they pose the same health risks as Viagra.
When a supplement manufacturer fails to disclose active ingredients
or intentionally misleads consumers, tragic injury often occurs. If you have
been injured after taking a supplement that made false safety claims or
contained ingredients that were not disclosed, you may be entitled to seek compensation
though a product
liability lawsuit. The best way to learn if you have cause to file suit is
through a free consultation with one of the experienced personal injury
attorneys at The Cochran Firm.

Supplement Manufacturer Closes Following FDA Probe
A supplement manufacturer in California has agreed to discontinue
its operations following an FDA investigation in which several violations of
state and federal guidelines were found. The company, Health One
Pharmaceuticals Inc., has also agreed to recall and destroy all of the dietary
supplements it has sold since 2011.
The supplements in question claimed to treat allergies,
cancer, and diabetes. Ingredients, however, were neither overseen nor included
on the label, and finished batches were not tested for purity or consistency.
erbal medications are not overseen by the FDA and do not
have to provide evidence for claims made on their packaging. They do have to
provide a list of ingredients and meet strict testing requirements. Due to the
unknown health risks associated with many herbal supplements, it is important
that you discuss their use with your physician before you start taking one.
f you have suffered injury after taking an herbal
supplement, you may be entitled to seek compensation for your damages. The best
way to determine if you have cause to file suit is through a one-on-one consultation
with an experienced product liability
attorney.
