Yankees Manager Helps Woman in Auto Accident
Most people go out and celebrate immediately after winning the World Series. New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi helped a woman who had just been in an auto accident.
On his way home from Yankee Stadium, Girardi noticed a car that crashed on a curved section of the highway. The car was still jutting into traffic and posed a serious danger for other vehicles.
Girardi ran across three lanes of traffic to help the woman out of her car so that she would not be in danger of getting hit by another vehicle.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:25am. The woman had lost control of her vehicle while taking a blind curve, and she crashed into a wall.
While professional athletes are often praised and honored for their performance on the field, they are rarely given credit for their good deeds off the field. Girardi's actions after his team's World Series victory demonstrate the type of human being he is, and he should be greatly admired for his altruistic deeds in this time of need.
