Woman Dies in Auto Accident Involving Large Truck

A car collided with a truck carrying horses on Interstate 35 in Kansas. Both vehicles were forced off of the road in the collision and rolled over on the side of the road. An 80-year-old woman died in the auto accident.

The highway was closed for several hours as the Kansas Highway Patrol tried to clear the accident scene. Animal control was called in to help round up the horses, which ran away after being freed from the wrecked trailer. There were 16 horses in the trailer at the time of the truck accident. One horse was put down after suffering severe injuries in the accident.

It is uncertain whether the family of the deceased woman will be filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the truck driver and trucking company. The accident is still under investigation at the moment.
