Symptoms of a whiplash injury include headache, searing or aching pain, soreness, tenderness, swelling, muscle spasms, dizziness, loss of motion and nausea and often are not present immediately after the accident, but become apparent after 24 to 48 hours. If left untreated whiplash can lead to a long period of disability with symptoms lasting for weeks or months.
